Hi,

I recently got a newsletter from greenfirefarms, and they said you could get them in the fall. Is this true?

Thanks!

this was my dilemna a few weeks ago, I convinced hubby to get some and well it's fall and I live in a cold climate, didnt want to wait til spring- I have read it's okay from several sources so we went for it. Chicks should be here week of 26th and I plan to brood inside until they feather and keep a heat source outside for a few weeks. Also I spoke to our local blue seal feed store owner who reassrued me it is pefectly fine to raise chicks right now in this New England climate.

Just ordered some Barred Rocks myself, due to arrive Sept 14th. We plan to keep them inside with heat lamp until about 4 or 5 weeks, then off to the coop (with heat lamp and seperated from their older sisters of course)

Today with modern heating of coops there is really no time of year that is unfavorable to get chickens. Years ago chicks were naturally hatched by hens almost year round. Just my two cents.
