When to integrate new chicks

Hey so we have two 6 or 7 week chicks we want to integrate into our flock. We let them
Free range together every once and a while and when we do one of our RIR pecks super hard and pulls feathers! Is this normal pecking order things or should we be doing something different?

Some pecking is normal. Even with free ranging I'd consider setting up some obstacles in their favorite areas, to give chicks something solid to hide behind to get some relief if the adults get too rough.
