I have 18 eggs that were due to hatch today (it's day 21) - one hatched last night and I'm only hearing movement and peeping from 2 other eggs. I had some issues with temperature control last week - I got up to the temp being close to 104 and I don't know what happened ( I have 4 children there is no telling) I got the temp back down and candled a few of the eggs and they seemed to be ok. The 2 eggs that are peeping have been at it all day and not one pip yet. Do i try to intervine before they die? How much time do I give them? I can't put this one little guy in the brooder by himself - am I rushing this? Please help!

DO NOT OPEN THE BATOR... leave it alone... leave it alone...leave it alone.... Chick can stay in there for easily 2 days.... Do not open it... Your survival rate will drop if there is pipping happening....

I have had late late late hatches so my best advice... trust the bator till day 23 or 24... then take the new chickie out... feed and water it... the others need his encouragement to come out.... Good luck and keep us posted...

I taped the bator shut last night - for my kids and myself (more me)! This morning we woke up to 2 more chicks and another one ziipping!

This whole process is so nerve wracking - I just want all of them to make it! thank you for all the advice - especially keeping the bator closed until the end - it's just so darn tempting to crack it open and look at that sweet little baby.
