When to introduce grit to chicks?

I'd like to start giving my Coturnix chicks mealworms (their new feathers are showing and I want them to have a little protein boost). They are 3-4 days old and eating a typical diet of 24% game bird starter. Is there a "proper" age for giving quail grit? Would I be hurting them by giving them chick grit this young?

Well, I just put a little bin of sand in the brooder. Hopefully they'll get some grit along with their bath!

That should work fine
I think as long as they’re a few days old and can tell the difference between what is food and what is sand you should be good.
