when to mix chicks from different places

im going this week to get some chicks form a local feed store but i am also going to buy some heratege rir from a breeder (they are due to hatch on valentines day) should i wait till i get those before geting the ones at the feed store and how long should i keep them seperate befor i put them together?

Best to get them as close to the same age as possible. Put them together right away and watch for conflicts. Should be an easy intro. The waiting/quarrentine period you read about often is for older chicks/chickens that have been exposed to other fown and thus, possible disease. This shouldn`t be a problem with incubator chicks under a week old. Good luck.......Pop
