When to move chicks to coop

We have been raising four chicks and they are just about two days shy of being six weeks. They are currently living in our garage in a brooder but it's getting too small. I'm wondering when would be best to move them to the coop. It's a smaller coop so not a huge space for them to adjust too. Our high temperatures are sitting between 50-60 everyday. Lows are at low forties at night. Thoughts?

Are they making any day trips outside? How does their current garage/brooder temp compare with the outside temps? Do you still have a heat lamp on them? If I were you, I'd be acclimating them right now to those outside temperatures. Give them some time outside each day, start removing the heat (if it's still on them) so that it's not a shock when you move them out. Then take the plunge! If they're feathered, they're ready to go.

If they're fully weaned off heat (no heat day or night) and exposed to temperatures similar to that outside, they can go right now. Otherwise you need to ditch the heat and acclimate them a bit more to outdoor temperatures, and then they can go.
