When to order pullets? First time

Hey, this year will be my first year raising chickens. I'd like to start out with some ready to lay pullets so we can get eggs almost right away.
I live an hour southwest of Ottawa , Ontario. Does anyone have recommendations on when I should be ordering my birds? Spring is coming fast so I'm worried I'm behind already.

I would order them now if i was you so they will lay through summer if they dont start earlier What breed you planning on getting?

yes, go for it now! it's the perfect time. In fact I have 4 more on order myself that I'm collecting in a week let us know what you get

You might try posting in this thread. It's quite possible someone is in your area with pullets or knows a good place to get them.

Hoping on rhode island reds. I had a local breeder lined up but since last fall he seems to have dropped off the map.
