I have 7 cuckoo maran chicks that are 1 month old and growing fast. They are in a large tub with screening on top and try to jump out when I change the daily water and feed. I also have 14 hens in my hen house. At what age is it ok to move the chicks in with the adult hens. I don't want them to be pecked to death or run off the feeders by the adults.

They are a little young to be integrated into the flock completely, but you can introduce them. If it's possible set up a separate cage inside the coop for the chicks to live in where they can be seen, but not attacked. Make sure they have their own food, water, and warmth. Keep them there until they are about 8 weeks old. When they are older open up their cage door and let them integrate into the coop with the others, but make sure they can run back to their cage for safety if they want to. The older hens will check them out and establish their place in the pecking order and the chicks will pretty much keep to themselves until they are big enough to completely merge with the adult hens.
