When to put chicks with grown chicks

I have 6 grown hens that are several years old and I bought 8 new chicks that are now about 7weeks old. The chicks have grown quite a bit. I have the chicks separated from the big hens. I recently held a baby chick up next to my big hen and she pecked it. When can I put them together?

once chickens has there pecking it's hard to add more to it. You will have to wait until they are at least 4 months old. putting them in at night time is your best chance. They will fight a little until they establish a new pecking order. Hope this helps.:

15 to 16 weeks at the earliest.

Definitely at least 4 months. I did this last year and even at 4 months it was not an easy task. I'll be doing it again this year, twice as I have two sets of ages.
