Hey all
I have a broiler baby I got 2 days ago.
I thought I had set up the brooder for success. Lots of room but not too much. Heat plate in the middle. Dipped all beaks, everyone was good.
This AM I found a baby I thought was gone but when I picked her up she was still alive and gasping.
Thanks to everything all you wonderful folks have shared in the past I was able to warm her up with a heat pad. Fed her some Gatorade. Then some yolk/sugar mix. Now she is chattering up a storm and walking around and has pooped a couple times.
How do i know when she is strong enough To go back with the rest. I dont want to put her back too soon but also dont want to wait roo long. She was the smallest of all the chicks I picked up.
I also have a 4 yo so putting her in and sitting to watch how things go isn't really an option.
TIA
