I set 20 eggs on the morning of March 30. Only 6 are showing veins and in the past couple of days have started moving around in the shells. The others aren't showing anything. We are on Day 10 or 11 (depending on how you figure it). How can I be certain they are not fertile and aren't just slow developers? And when do you normally remove these eggs? There's no smell and no oozing.

For chicken eggs, I start pulling obvious clears - no veins, no embryonic blob - at first candling (7 days). I leave them in until the second candling (14 days) if they're "iffy" (maybe developing, maybe blood ring, but not unequivocally). I know with certainty by day 14. :)

If you haven't already seen it, the photos here may be helpful.

I hadn't seen those. Thank you for the link. Do you think there is any danger in leaving them until Day 14 or should I go ahead and pull the ones that aren't showing any development? I don't want to give up on them if there's any chance they might start developing.
