This is my first hatch. It's day 24 and I have 3 eggs that haven't hatched. All are pipped and have been for a few days. I think one egg won't hatch because my bator dripped water onto the crack and I'm assuming it's dead. It was fully zipped 3 days ago and hasn't hatched. I did have a baby born during the night and 3 yesterday so they are still coming. How long do you wait? Thanks!

BTW, love the incubator, RCom King Suro. Had 12 eggs and so far 9 have hatched. I'll take it! So easy!

Personally, I would wash my hands, and pick up the eggs and listen/look for signs of life. I do know it can take more than 24 hours from first pip to zipping, but in my limited experience, after zipping it didn't take long to come out uness they were stuck. If there is signs of life, you can decide whether you want to help it hatch. There are more people on this forum who think you should NOT help a chick than there are people who would help. Me, I'd help. I'd actually have helped hours ago.

I'd help too. I've regretted not helping more than helping them. Every chick I've ever helped out of the shell has survived. Those I've left on their own when my instincts told me to help out, died.

If they've been pipped for days, I would definitely get in there and at the very least check for signs of life. If the membrane looks dry, pick off a little shell and see how dry. If its shrink wrapped, pull back some membrane and see if its alive and breathing in there. Use your best judgement.

Good luck!
