Our chickens are 5 to 5.5 months old. When should we start giving them laying feed?

Cheers!

Hello,

Start feeding layer feed after they start to lay. If you have roosters eating the same food, you can feed flock raiser feed to all and provide oyster shell for the hens.

Good luck

what breeds are they and are they laying yet?

You should start on layer around the time they should start laying, this is different for different breeds. You could always go ahead and start offering oyster shell free choice and then switch to layer after the first one lays an egg.

I hope that they are all hens. I'll start offering them oyster shells

We have one black silkie bantam and two sizzle bantams (cross between a silkie and a frizzle). They are very cute
