When to start new ch

I'm not sure where to post this question.

I want to add to my flock this coming year. When is the best time to incubate eggs or buy chicks to add to the flock in spring?

This seems like a fine forum to post this to me.

I generally plan for brooding chicks anywhere from 8-12 weeks before they go in with the rest of the flock. I would just time it with your weather and whether or not you have the space to keep the chicks until they are big enough to go in with the older chickens.
