My meat birds are going to the Amish Tues. I think I read at one time you should not feed them so many hours before butchering, is this right? And if so when do I stop feeding them.? Also we found one dead under the bushes last night when I went to put them in the coop, riger had started to set in, do you think it is safe to eat? maybe dog food? It is very hot for this time of year in Mi. don't know how long she had been gone as I worked and didn't get down to put them to bed till after 7 and the were all fine when I left in the AM. ...I think she may have had a heart attack as there was no sign of distress or injury.
