When to swich

Ok I have 2 flocks of chickens and I need to integrate them quickly. One group is 7-15 weeks old and the other is about 8 months and they get along fine. Can I feed the younger ones layer feed so that the older ones can have it to or can I do something else. Please help.

I think you're running risk feeding layer feed to the younger ones. maybe use a flock raiser instead and provide oyster grit on the side for the layers. the others won't eat it, but your layers can get the calcium they need. of course if your system is closed you will need grit provided for the young ones too.

mine free range so i'm not the best to answer for sure.

Grower or Flock Raiser/All Flock. Offer the calcium source on the side, rather than having it all in the feed.
