When to switch from starter feed...

At what age do I quit feeding starter? My RIR's are 6 wks old now and are still eating the medicated starter. Do I need to be doing something different?

Finish this bag of "starter" and then switch them to a "grower" or a "developer" ration.

We keep ours on starter until point of lay. I would switch from medicated to nonmedicated though at this time.

Make sure each chick gets 2.5 lbs. of feed. So, if you have 4 chicks make sure you go through 10 lbs. of medicated feed.

I keep my chickens on non-medicated starter/grower until they actually begin to lay then I switch them to layer ration.

Is that 2.5 lbs a day per chick?
If you have 10 chicks you would go thru 25 lbs per day?
I have some that maybe 8 weeks and are feeding the Dumor starter feed, (can't remember if this is medicated or if it was the starter feed from Orschlens that was medicated?) should we change?

Around 6-8 weeks I mix starter with pellets until they get use to the pellets. I have done that for quiet a few years now.
