when to switch to layer?

My chicks are 12 weeks..when is the time to switch them to layer? Or..when is the time to start slowly switching them to layer form the starter/grower?

I switch around the 17th week by mixing the starter/grower with the layer and by the 19th week all layer feed

Yep, the rooster can eat layer as well. When your girls start laying, be sure to put out in a separate dish oyster shell, free-choice to help with calcium.

Recycle the shells from the eggs you use as well. Its amazing how many throw the shells away. Let them completely dry, crush them them down, put them back out for the birds.
