My chicks are 16 weeks this Monday. (17th) One of my leghorns comb as really enlarged and reddened. I know this is a sign of getting ready to lay. I have maybe a scant 1/3 of a 50# bag of chick feed - I am wondering if I should buy layer feed or chick feed next. Would it hurt the others to eat layer feed if they aren't laying? Would it hurt the layer to have chick feed when she is laying? Also - I have a rooster. Can he eat layer feed?
