When to take them off the light?

The short answer is when they have feathers all over their body. If the surrounding temperature is warm enough it can be turned off sooner. Are they currently inside? What is the temperature of the room? Ate you planning to move them to a coop? What are the temperatures outside?
Thanks.

And, what would that temperature be?

pends on ambient temp ..if its indoors above 75 i'll start covering them and turning it off overnight at 2 weeks .. if its dipping lower in the 60s then overnight its on and then if its warm in the day they can start going to the 'big bitty' cage outside, then back to the brooder at night until theyre feathering up .. if its chilly chilly i'll keep that up longer .. generally theyll get used to the shuffle and fly up and get on your arm or hand .. at that point theyre about ready to stay in the outside cage, covered at night .. then theyll be ready to start exploring, but not ready to hang with the big chickens, so its back to 'their' cage, theyll get in themselves, until they find a spot in the coop and can avoid the other ones.. then the cage can be put up lol .. thats the short version lol ..
