When Using Sand In Your Coop...

I went to a sand/gravel place (local nurseries have them too sometimes) and got 1/2 cubic yard for $20 (basically filled the bed of my pickup truck) of River Sand. Grains are mostly the size of chicken grit and I find these types of places can get you more for your money.

I buy playsand from toys r us for the kids, it's really course and clean and doesn't stick to them like the playsand from lowes/home depot. It would be GREAT in a run. It's pricey though, so it'd be great in a small run
