When will chickens lay eggs after moving home?

Hi, I recently bought some ginger ranger chickens, I'm just wondering do they need to settle in before I get any eggs?
How long usually is it ill be waiting?

When we got our chicken she laid probably 4 or 5 days after getting her. It did take a little while before she laid. I have also had someone tell me that once you move them some times they wont lay again. I haven't experienced any of that.

They are no older than 1, the person I got them from said they are 'good layers'

Never heard of ginger rangers....makes me think of red ranger meat chickens.

Just give them time to get used to their new environment...they'll lay in time.

That looks like a Red Sex Link (aka...Golden Buff, Golden Comet, and a few other names)
Did they start laying again?

Hopefully you get some eggs out of them. I bought 3 chickens from someone nearby. A red sexlink, an ameraucana mix, and a black langshan. The langshan is still only around 4 months old so has never laid before. The sexlink was supposed to be about a year old, and I didn't catch the age of the ameraucana mix. It took the ameraucana mix exactly a week to start laying, and we've gotten 3 eggs in 4 days. Still no eggs from the sexlink. I am beginning to suspect that the sexlink was older than the seller said and she is not going to be laying any longer, but time will tell.

I'm in the same boat. We got 3 hens at the beginning of August and they still aren't laying! I was beginning to suspect something was wrong, so I checked them out and they were covered in lice and mites! I treated them, but I think the whole process was stressful. Hopefully they feel better and start laying soon. I'm a new chicken owner but I've already learned my lesson, give a ways and Craigslist sellers aren't always what they seem
