When will Mother Hen start laying again?

I was given a hen who had hatched 7 chicks (who are still with her) and I'm wondering when she'll start laying again. The chicks are about 2-1/2 weeks old.

If you want eggs, then separate mom from chicks. She'll want to lay after that. She won't lay right away but much sooner than if you keep her with her chicks. Just like if you keep collecting eggs from the nest, they will keep laying. But if you allow them to set on them, they will stop laying.
