When will my Barred rocks and Buffs lay?

Hey guys I have three Barred rock hens and five buff Orpington hens , they are 15 weeks old . I was wondering approximately when will they lay? Here some photos ....

Likely 5-7 more weeks. Watch for their combs to start turning a a bright red. Won't be long after that.

I did have 2 Barred Rocks that started at 19 weeks. The rest were all laying by 22 weeks. Buff Orpingtons can take a little longer. On average, they start at about 6 months.

Nice lookin' birds. I have Barred Rocks and Leghorns, and if memory serves me correctly I think mine started around 20-22 weeks or so. So you shouldn't be too far off. Like Redsoxs said, watch for the red comb. I know it can get nerve racking while you wait but one day when you least expect it you'll find an egg somewhere, hopefully in a nest box, and when you do you'll be ecstatic. I feel like that every time I open my nest box access hatch - it hasn't gotten old yet. I like to compare it to fishing - you never get tired of it even when you have plenty. It's one of those few pleasures in life.
