i have a light brahma that I do t think is laying eggs yet but hard to tell because I have other brown layers and she won't let me get close enough to catch her. I have a black australorp and I checked her pelvic bones? Last night and they are only about a finger width apart. I have a French black copper marans that isn't yet? All are about 6-6 1/2 months old.

Nope they adapt to seasonal changes without issues. If you are pushy with them you can replicate a commercial poultry farms practices by keeping them in a windowless coop and control the lighting.
Not sure I want that. I have debated adding a light but they are just as much my pets as they are around for laying. :)

Right, it won't hurt them. They just matured too late in the year. That happened to me last year, I got those chicks in late May and they didn't lay until spring.
Yours may yet start, you'll just have to wait and see.
Good luck!
Thank you. They were hatched roughly the end of April. So maybe. :)
