When will my pure bred RIR and Ameraucana start laying eggs?

Hi all I have some RIR and Ameraucanas that are pure bred. The ameraucanas are 21 weeks and the Reds are 20 weeks. When should I start expecting eggs?

Antime between 20 weeks and 24 weeks is when most breeds start. So expect eggs very soon.

how old are they? most chickens lay at around 6 months

Pure bred Am's may not start laying until well after 6 months of age....
....especially this time of year when the days are growing exponentially shorter.

Have you asked the breeders who sold you these birds? That's your best resource for what your pullets are going to do.
My one experience with Ameraucanas was not terrific; the pullets started laying at eleven months of age, produced for several months, molted, and barely ever produced eggs again. They were beautiful, but very poor egg producers. I do hope your experience will be much better!!!
