I have 2 silkie hens that are both laying & 1 silkie roo I've had them since they were appox 3 weeks old that was in March, I was wondering when they would go broody, am I doing something wrong or what?
ANy advice or suggestions would be helpful.. I got them because they were supposed to be such broody hens, I'd love to see them hatch out some of my other fertile gals eggs.

Thanks

A pullet/hen, even a broody prone breed, will go broody when the hormones tell them to raise a family. That's my best answer.
I've had broody prone breeds never go broody and breeds that have had the setting instinct bred out of them that went broody all the time. There are no guarantees.

My only suggestion would be to keep a clutch of fake eggs in the nest. Sometimes that kick starts them if they are inclined.
