Hello,

I have two Swedish Ducks and I'm just wondering when they will start to lay. Or, well, when the female will lay. I have a male as well and I have already seen them mating, yet no eggs. I have heard very conflicting stories. I looked here and saw someone said they could lay as early as 14-17 weeks, yet I looked on other forums and someone said they could lay at up to a year old! My ducks are 18 weeks old and I'm really looking forward to their first egg! Thanks for the help!

I don't have Swedish I have Muscovy but most domestic ducks will begin to lay around 5-6 months of age. some earlier some later but usually around 20 weeks on. so you shouldn't have long to wait, usually once mine begin mating eggs come around 2-3 weeks later. Welcome to BYC
