When will new mothers lay again?

One of our hens just hatched her first clutch of eggs last week, and I'm wondering how long it'll take before she starts laying again?

we have 4 hens. 3 of the 4 are laying every day. they skipped a couple of day after they initially started laying. did that for a week or so. been laying every day since. now the 4th hen layed her 1st over a week ago and still no 2nd egg. they are all red sex links and got them at the same time. they're all different

Oh, thank you, Deidre. I think I didn't phrase my question very well. Her eggs have hatched, she has new chicks, is a FABULOUS mother, and I'm just wondering how long it will be before she starts to lay again?

Depends how long she decides to be a mother, which can vary a lot, I suppose averages around 4-5 weeks. Mine kept mothering for 8 weeks, then stopped calling them to food, ate the treat herself, and laid an egg about 2 days later.
