My RIRs have been laying for about 4 weeks now and the egg sizes are still really small. I mean in the 40-44 gram range, with an occasional one around 49 grams. At this rate, the eggs are not even small size. The only large ones I've ever gotten have all been double yolks.

When will my little ladies start consistently laying larger size eggs?

It'll take awhile, sometimes a couple of months depending on the hen (pullet).

yep. Took mine at least a couple months. It's not so much the breed as it is they are young and their bodies are just adjusting still.

Mine was laying small eggs for about 2 months, then layed 5 double yolkers in a row(ouch), and now has a pretty consistant medium dark egg! She lays 6-7 days a week, very good layer!! Very sweet bird!!

Thanks so much, everyone! I was beginning to worry about their size. Cause while they eggs are still delicious, their size puts them in the peewee to small range. I guess I'll just have to be a little patient.
