I have a dark cornish who has been sitting on the nest for almost 3 weeks now. The other hens just lay in the other boxes, and usually if I take the eggs out from under her she moves to get on any other eggs, but really no egg stays there long, I take them as soon as I can after being laid. Will she naturally get 'un-broody'? Just wondering what to expect...I know she has hatched eggs before as when I got her she had chicks with her. Any thoughts?

my welsummer hens were broody for over a month. The first time they did it, I removed their nesting box and left them with a less-private area to lay eggs. They got unbroody really quick, but then just a couple weeks later went broody again!

Good luck. One of my hens was broody for nearly three MONTHS. I tried everything. The only thing that snapped her out of it was giving her chicks to raise.

I'm with you on the waiting! I have a bantam chicken that was broody and sitting on eggs. She was super-broody, even pulled out most of her stomach feathers to make the eggs nice and warm. Too bad we have rooster! So it's been almost two months now that she's been growing her feathers back and walking around the yard with the other hens, but still no eggs yet...Someday I hope!
