Hi all, just curious as to when our girl monalisa will start laying eggs again, she was broody and sat on and hatched 5 eggs, she accidentally stood on one at 5 days who sadly died so we took the remaining 4 chicks and put them in our brooder. All remaining chicks are doing very well and are now 11 days old. I know it won't be soon but just wondering how long it takes for her to start laying again after being separated from her chicks?
P. S
She's no longer broody x

I was wondering the same thing. I have a broody who hatched eggs on Sunday. She's barely left the nest since then and I was wondering when she'd decide to leave!

Our monalisa is up and about and back to her normal self, but I was just wondering how long it takes after they come out of being broody 🤔

There is no set time for them to start laying. Each one is different. I had one that started laying 2-1/2 weeks after she hatched her chicks, she had not even weaned them yet. I had one in late summer that started her annual molt while raising her chicks, she did not start laying for two months after she weaned them. I've had hens at all points in between.

The only accurate answer I can give you is that she will start laying when she starts. That could be fairly soon. It may not.
