Here is my red sex link pullet. I'm not sure exactly how old she is. Could anyone help me with some guesses??? I want to know how much longer I have to wait before she starts laying.

The Red Star type hybrids generally start laying around 16-20 weeks in age. She looks like she should start laying almost any time!

Best of luck!

Her combs getting the bright red, so it should not be long. Like the poster before said, 16-20 weeks, sometimes a lil longer, depending on feed, ext...

When will she lay eggs?.....when she's d@mn well and ready to!! LOL

Sorry...That's what I always think when I see this query.

These are not absolute but some pretty good clues.
I've found the pelvic points to be the most accurate.

Signs of onset of lay---
Squatting:
If you touch their back they will hunker down on the ground, then shake their tail feathers when they get back up.
This shows they are sexually mature and egg laying is close at hand.

Combs and Wattles:
Plump, shiny red - usually means laying.
Shriveled, dryish looking and pale - usually means not laying.

2 bony points on either side of vent:
Less than 2 fingertip widths apart usually means not laying.
More than 2 fingertip widths apart usually means laying.
