when will silkies 1st lay??

i have a 5mo old silkie and we are pretty sure its a she and my question is when will she layy????????????

Well from what I have read is they can start anywheres from 4months to 1 year... I think it depends on the bird, where it came from, how it was bred. It seems that a lot of answers are 7-9 months but again it could be anytime I guess... My silkies are only 3 months so I am not going to get excited about laying until |March or so...
