When will Silkies Crow or Lay an Egg???

I have some 19 and 17 week old Silkies. When will they crow or lay an egg?

I have one or two crowing at 17 1/2 weeks. Eggs should be coming within a few weeks -- but keep in mind the days are getting shorter and that could be a factor

So with days getting shorter will egg production stop or just slow down? If the Silkies start laying will they not lay or lay every once and a while during the Fall/Winter?

I was getting 5 eggs a day from my regular laying hens, now I get 3. Is this the same concept or will they eventually stop too?
