when will silkies lay eggs?

I got my first chickens ever last week. I have one silkie rooster who is one year old and two silkie hens that are six months old. When can I expect them to start laying eggs?

Maybe never. Silkies are not reliable layers. I had 4 hens and got not one egg all year. They did make a delicious stew.
