When will the feather colors mean something?

I have an EE with wings that are gray with buff edges. Her upper chest feathers are just starting and they're coming in gray & buff, barred! What the heck?!

Another EE has yellow down and her wing feathers have been coming in a solid cream color. Her upper chest matches the wing but the upper back is coming in a pale shade of peach.

So, do baby colors in EEs typically change radically with adult plumage? Is there any hope that these chicks will keep these color combinations?

you don't really get an idea what color they might end up until about a month old. At that point you start to see color patterns and at two months you pretty much have the colors they are going to be.
