That is an impressive mohawk! I also don't think he'll wait until February but he may not be as loud as you are worried about. The rooster I had started about 7-8 weeks of age.

Can't you keep him? He's an awesome looking bird!

I have a 23 week old Splash Wheaten Ameraucana cockerel who STILL hasn't crowed (and, yes, he's definitely a he). Maybe you'll get lucky? I actually enjoy the crowing, but my guy is apparently shy.
