When will the time be right to acquire eggs???

Ok, I'm addicted I admit it and I just joined! I live in Southern NM, the temps have been between 20 and 40 at night and 40 and 65 during the day. I need to get eggs for my classroom and now I want some for me too! When would it be advisable to order some eggs for us? The more I read the more I want to do it right away. My class got some eggs on Dec. 7 from NC and not one has developed and I hate to go back and have to tell them all this without having a plan to try again.

We have a sign on the front door "Proctology 2007/08 conf" and we can walk right in with our heads held high!


You can get and start eggs any time - it mostly comes down to when the little ones will be put out in the coop.
