WHEN WILL THEY HATCH?!?!?!

But I wsn't trying to end there! Crazy end keys on this roll up keyboard.

Good luck with your hatch! I have 2 toddlers as well, which have done an amazing job not messing with my brooder(made incubator with turner). Of course first week I gave them a big box they pretended to hatch eggs(small toys) out of so maybe that helped.

But I learned a lot on that post and now feel more at ease with my own hatch coming soon, I'm sure I will reread it at least 5 more times and not get any sleep either come the 21st

WE HAVE A PIP!! I went out for 2.5 hrs, when I came home a checked one of the eggs pipped! On the large end right where she should. I'm feeling a little better now, thank you everyone! Hopefully no one runs into trouble when I'm at work!

My toddler has been pretty good about it. When I was warming it up she "helped" by turning the heat all the way up. After that I explained to her that it would hurt the babies if she touched it. I've been having trouble with my cat sitting on it and turning the heat up or down. I resolved that by turning an empty yogurt cup upside down on the thermostat knob, since it no longer bothered me for him to sit on it he lost interest.

Yes similar thing here, my brooder is about twice as tall than Styrofoam ones so it was a bit difficult for them, my brooder did hit 104 once =( but still had development after & movement after. Read that could affect hatching(mal-positioning). Congrats on pip! Don't worry too much and give at least 12 hrs before concern. I'm up late so let me know =) Humidity should be steady til hatch. I've read 65-70%, higher up to 75% for those who cant resist opening.

The one that piped Friday morning hatched 10min ago. Three others pipped between 930pm and 1130pm and 2 are unpipped, one of those is very active the other not so active but moving. The repaired egg has pipped, after it pipped I removed the wax around the air cell line so that it would have an easier time. All seems well so far. The the one who has hatched has been named Cindy (I hope she's not a roo, lol) and took about 40 min from the time s/he started zipping to hatch. Thanks again everyone!!

Sounds like your temperature was spot on. All hatching day 21. Congrats.

I still recommend doing a salt test on your hygrometer to calibrate it.

They were set at 11am 8/28 so it looks like 4 will hatch on day 21. The real big one and the small one are lagging a bit.
The first 2 to pip have hatched. The second 2 are starting to zip as I type. I'm still awaiting a pip on the last 2. One has pipped the membrane and "The Turkey" as we call him has done nothing, he does move the egg. His egg is porous so I never had high hopes for him.
We have removed the 2 who have hatched have been removed to the brooder because they kept hitting their heads on the heating element in the bator. I'm sure they would have been fine, but they were nearly dry anyhow.
I will do a salt test before I hatch again.

Thanks everyone!!!

Thank
Congrats! Hope your last 2 have hatched, best of luck

Thank you!
Out of 6 eggs, 4 have hatched, one pipped and started to try to zip the middle of the egg ( we put some cracks in the shell to asst and then returned him to the bator) and "The Turkey" the very large porous egg has done nothing and does not appear to be moving anymore. I'll give him another day or so before throwing in the towel on him. Over all a successful first hatch! Thanks again to everyone!!

Let us know if the last two hatched =) I just had 2 hatch since midnight! There so adorable and now I can't sleep because there are 9 more eggs with teeny cracks in them.
