I picked up two 8 month old California Leghorns yestersday. The people who had them needed to thin out their hens cause they were getting about 3 dozen eggs a day. I went out a couple of times today, they are in/by the nests, but no eggs yet. Are they stressed because of the move and new surroundings? They are with 13, 8 week old chickens and two ducks.

Update - my son just went and checked and found one big beautiful egg!!! Yeah!!!!

Congrats on your first egg!!!

It could take a couple of weeks for them to acclimate to their new digs before they really get laying again.

I picked up 5 RIRs 2 weeks ago. I've gotten 0-3 eggs a day. I think a decrease/stop in egg production is pretty common after a move. Be patient, hang in there, and pretty soon you'll see lots of eggs!
