When will they lay ?

Ok so Im new to chickens have a odd question. My rooster has been breeding my hens even though none of them have started laying egg ? Is that a sign that my hens are getting close to being of age to start laying ? Or is my rooster a over achiever ? my chickens are production reds and have a few Ameraucana . my rooster is a silky and ameraucana cross

usually start to lay when they are 5-6 months. rooster is just being a rooster it doesn't mean they will lay eggs yet
