I have 2 Red Stars & 2 Tetra Tints (all marked Production Layers) from TSC that are 6-8 weeks old. They are HUGE compared to my 4 little Bantums that are about the same age. I also got 6 more TT's that are about 3-4 weeks younger, a Columbian Rock about 4-5 weeks younger, a Black Star that's about 1-2 weeks old now, & 4 more Banties at about 1-2 weeks old.

I know my Reds & TT's should probably start laying 1st...but what age is that likely to be?

i had a production black that started laying as early as 15 weeks. the other ones followed at 17 weeks(a production red) and two more at 19 weeks(a red and a black the same day). they are very good layers even throughout winter.

From what I've been reading it seems that most breeds begin to lay between 4 and 6 months of age, so you are looking at a couple more months for your oldest chicks. If you check out the breed section you may get a better idea for each of your different breeds.
