When you don't a wheelbarrow, you may find a better way to clean the coop

I unintentionally discovered a plastic sheet works much better than the wheelbarrow did to carry the litter out.

It was the plastic sheet we have used to clear the leaves from the yard for many years. It worked well when used the same way to clear the deep bedding from the coop. The advantages are that the bedding doesn't have to be lifted as high (or at all if you don't have a short wall under your door), it is ever so much easier to maneuver in the tight space of the coop, it is ever so much easier to get past it to pull the load out, you lift only the litter and a few ounces of plastic to empty it rather than lifting the weight of the wheelbarrow too. And rolling the litter off the plastic is much faster than getting it out of the wheelbarrow either by dumping the wheelbarrow or scooping it out of the wheelbarrow.

It took me less than four hours to completely empty a 7x10 space with bedding 12"-15" deep, including sweeping it out. It I had had a shovel, it would certainly have gone faster still. Compared to two days with the wheelbarrow and good choices of shovels to empty about half to two thirds of the same space.
