I have gotten myself into a bit of a mess
I have several eggs in the incubator and I have absolutely no idea when they are supposed to hatch. Obviously I can narrow it down to a 21 day window.
but besides that, I'm fairly clueless.
How did this happen, you ask?
I have 3 broody hens currently that seemed to have gone broody within days of each other. Prior to the first going broody, I set some eggs in the incubator. Next thing I knew, my serama went broody. I didn't confine her because she gets really upset and tends to crush her eggs if confined and the other chickens leaver her alone. After a few days I noticed that she had switched nests and was on the eggs that the other chickens had just layed. I quickly grabbed a couple of the eggs she had been on and put them in the bator just so I would have some chicks if she didn't return to her nest. That night when I got home, my sizzle had decided to sit on the serama nest! Fast forward a couple of days and the same thing happened again, except this time my cochin took over the nest. Now I have three chickens on three nests and 6 eggs in the incubator and I don't know when to put them in lockdown! I have several incubators so I could seperate them if I need to but how do I know? Three of the eggs look like they have fully developed chicks in them and three look less so. HELP!!!
