We got 2 Jersey chicks and a baby duck about a month ago. Couldn't put them in the new coop with the big girls, so we put them together in the old coop. After about 3 weeks the duck started peeping instead of quacking - for real! It was so funny. My daughter finally got her another, older duck who knew how to quack. I now have a bilingual duck! But she still follows the jerseys everywhere. Go figure. My chickens never cease to amaze me. If the jerseys start swimming with the ducks in the kiddie pool I'll have to post another topic. Lol.

My duck gets up on the roosts with the chickens at night and tries to get frisky with his favorite hens on a regular basis.

My dad put a duck egg under a Banty when I was a kid. We had a chicken duck. The momma went hysterical when her 'chick' went swimming in the dog's water dish. Banties are good moms. Ducks try hard to be good chicks.
But alas... The pond called the duck away and a gator ate her.
