Will my crested polish crow, if one of them is indeed a rooster? They are 13 wks old. They seem so small, but I am comparing them to my barred rock roo and my other chickens. I haven't noticed any other signs of either one of them being a roo, other then there aggressive behavior at times. I just wondered when the crested polish usually start to crow. My barred rock is just a week older, and he has been crowing for a long time now.

who knows
for a month every friday a different "hen" crowed and had to be relocated

I have about 10 roosters, none older than 13 weeks. I intend to cull them when it seems time to do so, but right now they get along pretty well.

My polish crested rooster named Puff Boy was the first to crow, about 3 or 4 weeks ago, although he is the smallest. I wasn't even sure whether he was a boy or a girl until his face area turned very red. I had heard someone trying to crow but happened to catch him in the act when I was out in the coop one day. Soon, though, one of my big black australorps (I started calling him Alpha) started crowing and every time little Puff Boy would try to crow, Alpha would shut him up by running at him with a puffed chest and towering over him. Puff Boy is no dummy so he would dodge the run and find somewhere else to play...

This hasn't stopped Puff Boy with the ladies though...he seemed to figure it out sooner than the other roos, and then the alpha roo took over and he's rather stingy so Puff Boy has learned to take his ladies off away from the main flock so he can get his business done. Since there are 27 hens, there's enough to go around! So far, I've only seen Alpha and Puff Boy attempting to do the deed, and now only Alpha and one other australorp are crowing, but Puff Boy was the first...
