Depends on the nationals you're referring to.
Ohio Nationals (one of if not the largest national show) is in November and this year is on the 12th and 13th also this year they will also be having a Heritage Show of Champions where "Heritage" breeds will be featured.
Definition of "heritage"; Any breeds of poultry officially recognized by the APA in1911 or before.
Quote:
Ohio has been the largest National Show for some time now.
Last year the entries at Ohio National exceeded 5,000 birds. That was the largest poultry show ever held that did not host an ABA or APA national meet.
Last year the show in Ohio was the ABA Nationals and I believe it was 6000 birds ( I was there).
The Ohio Nationals is just a name they gave themselves and it is very confusing to those just getting into the fancy. They only hold a National there every 5 yeras or so.
It is the largest show in America without it being a National, and if you don't believe it just ask them. Size matters in Ohio.......
