Where are the eggs? Of course, they're under the silkie!

My flock of various breeds just recently started laying. I think I have two pullets laying right now. I also have a silkie girl who is not yet laying. I have various boxes/crates in the coop at the moment as nesting boxes (an empty plastic storage container, a cat carrier and a covered litter box). Sometimes I'll find an egg in one of the nesting boxes, sometimes behind the box, and sometimes in a random spot...BUT no matter where the egg is, the silkie pullet is sitting on it!

I guess that makes my egg hunt easier - find the silkie, pick her up, there's the egg (s). I bought her to be my incubator for this coming spring and something tells me she's going to do a good job.

Maybe there are to many choices of places to lay. Maybe if you limited it to just two or three
it would be easier for your girls to decide where to lay and easier for you to find. Good Luck.
