Hi there BYC,

I've been subletting from a friend in Venice who has a chicken in a coop that she can no longer care for. I've been feeding this little guy for the past month, but am moving out. I'd like to see if there are any organizations in LA that take in chickens who are not wanted anymore, or who can no longer be cared for by their owner.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Regards,

Julie

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

There are a few things you can do. There is a Hen Rescue organization in CA that might take him. If you PM roostersandhens, she runs a rescue operation that might be willing to take this little guy.

You can also stop by our state thread and chat with some of your chicken neighbors and maybe someone will take him...

You can also place an ad in our Buy Sell and Trade section in hopes of placing him in a good home. However you will need 20 posts to place an ad. So you can welcome in new members in this introduction section to get your post count up. Here is the link to Animals Free for Rehoming....

Good luck and I hope you can find him a nice forever home.
